OpenSolaris Community: GO VOTE!!!

If your a voting member (check grant status here) of the OpenSolaris community please, please, please go vote now! I imagine some people are waiting for more interviews to be posted by Simon Phipps as he conducts canidate interview podcasts... but please, don't wait, go vote now! You have until March 26th (next Monday), but don't let it slip your mind and pass you by. This is an extremely important time for the community to show its engaged and reguardless of how you vote, frankly, the election turnout numbers will have a huge impact on the future of the project. Because of the voting system you can vote for as many of few candidates as you wish... you do not have to vote for all 7 OGB slots! If you only know of one or two candidates that you really like, just vote for them. IF YOU CARE ABOUT OPENSOLARIS PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!

I like to think of myself as a “member of the OpenSolaris community” but since I’m not in the “Core Contributor” clubhouse, I can’t vote :(

That’s alright, I live right next to Washington DC, so I’m used to the idea of being a part of something but having no say in it.

Yes, I agree with Dale’s comment. Ben, I think you should replace “member of the community”, and be more precise, like “if you are a core contributor, then vote”.

Ben: I just completed the series – I may be able to add Casper but the other four are pointedly ignoring me. I’m encouraging people to go vote [1].

Dale: Since we have 30,000+ people registered on OpenSolaris.org, giving everyone a vote would have been pretty random. The OGB is happy to consider requests for “core contributor” status so if you’re serious and thing you qualify, write to cab-discuss@opensolaris.org at once and explain why – we gave CC status to someone very recently in response to such an e-mail. There’s no reason for any genuine contributor to be excluded.
